When at Leebitton it is a must to organise a trip to the island of Mousa (opposite the cottage) to see the world’s largest and best preserved Pictish broch. There is also a seal colony at the south of the isle where the seals can be observed closely. (To book ferry, tel: 07901 872339, or online at www.mousa.co.uk).
A short walk takes you to the village of Hoswick where you can call along the Warp and Weft Visitor Centre to view the knitwear and local crafts before relaxing in the cafe over a cup of tea or a bowl of soup after your swim.
