Situated on the Westside of mainland Shetland, this modern self-catering house offers stylish, comfortable 2-bedroom accommodation with views to the village of Walls and spectacular views down Vaila Sound. Sited only a few minutes from the shoreline where you can spot otters and seals, it is an ideal location to explore all the Westside has to offer in terms of wildlife, coastal walks and a rich heritage. Ample off-road parking makes the house easily accessible by wheelchair.

Establishment Overview

The large entrance porch has bench seating and plenty of storage. This area leads into the large dining kitchen. With fully fitted with integrated dishwasher, oven and induction hob, fridge freezer and microwave, the kitchen is equipped with all that is needed to make the house feel like home. There is also a radio/CD player. The dining table seats six and looks out through patio doors to a small decked area. A separate utility room off the kitchen has a sink, washing machine and storage for ironing board, iron and vacuum cleaner.

The living room’s large picture windows give spectacular views down Vaila Sound to the sea and across to the village of Walls. The room is furnished with a large sofa, two Ercol armchairs and a sofa bed. Other facilities include an LED TV with Freesat, DVD player and a Sony Bluetooth speaker. The house comes with free unlimited wifi and a good selection of DVDs, games, books and maps.

The king size bedroom has a large wardrobe with plenty of drawer space. The en-suite shower room includes a large walk-in shower and a tiled floor.

The twin bedroom has a built-in wardrobe with ample hanging and drawer space.

The family bathroom comes with an over-bath shower and a tiled floor.

The off-road parking is at the rear of the property.

The house has underfloor heating throughout, the cost of which is included in the rental price.

The house is 26 miles from Lerwick and takes approximately 40 minutes by car. From Lerwick follow the A970 north for approx. 6 miles and then turn left on to the A971 signposted to Walls. Follow this until the village of Walls itself and once through the village take the sharp left turn marked Stapness/Gardie. South Voe is the first house on your right.
