Kate Humble would have seen the Auld Haa as she walked around the garden on her way to spot otters on the Longa Tonga peninsula.

Establishment Overview

The Auld Haa is an old stone house which is nearly 140 years old that has been modernised, insulated and has central heating installed so is always warm in all seasons. The house was later extended and this now forms the modern ground floor bathroom and study. The view/day room is the latest addition and this gives 180 degree views of Copister Loch, Yell Sound (with its islands) and Mainland Shetland. The vaulted and boarded ceiling gives this room added character. This room is a special place to admire the view and the weather.

Wildlife can be seen, especially from the view/day room and the walks from the house, around the Longa Tonga, are some of the best. This is a good base for exploring Yell and further afield, if time permits. Using the ferries adds to your 'adventure'.

The large kitchen/diner has a newly fitted kitchen with built in oven, hob, fridge and microwave oven. A washer/drier is provided in the utility space. The living room has a 32” smart TV with a Blue-ray DVD player and Freesat. DVDs are provided and there are books in the study for your use. Outdoor furniture is provided. The west facing patio area is a sheltered sun trap and a good place to enjoy a drink or two. Alternatively, relax and watch the sunset in the view/day room with the French doors open (or not, depending on the weather!).

The house is very comfortable and well equipped so you will not be disappointed. The house offers accommodation for 4 people (1 double and 1 twin bedroom) and all main rooms have views of Yell Sound etc. On-site parking.

Please visit our website for further information on the house, Yell and further afield.
