Establishment Overview

Hillside is situated in Scalloway, the ancient capital of Shetland and is within easy walking distance of the NAFC seafood restaurant, Scalloway hotel, the Cornerstone cafe and the Chinese takeaway. The hill behind gives some beautiful views of the many small islands outside the harbour and the Westside of Shetland with the opportunity to see wild Shetland ponies, otters, seals and numerous sea birds.

Scalloway also has a swimming pool, a football pitch, tennis court, children’s playgrounds, a museum, a castle built in the 1600’s and numerous locations associated with the Shetland bus operations from world war two. Two golf courses are within five miles and there are many lochs for trout fishing nearby. There are two very comprehensive local shops one of which includes a butchers department.

Upon arrival the house will have tea, coffee, sugar, washing machine powder, dish washing liquid, kitchen and toilet rolls provided. Boat tours are operated from the Blacksness pier during the summer months and can be booked for exploration of the islands or sea angling.
